Artist's Comments

Another Foundation Drawing assignment.

The cloth crossing on the right side of the page is actually from a display in the art school. The girl's exhibits were quite extraordinary - integrating fabric into an installation that was really intriguing. (I wish I took photos). The one I drew here actually had umbrellas underneath the cloth, making the whole display look like a giant, sleeping dragon. (It was huge! I could sit next to it, and be unable to see over the top of the cloth to the other side :P)

Oh, and the fish was my random sketch on the page before I decided on drawing the cloth installation... ^^

This is awesome. The way you've rendered the cloth is very, very realistic! Though the background is a little sparse, was there anything behind all of that cloth and whatnot?

There wasn't much behind the cloth installation from my vantage point. Pretty much a drywall hand rail that wouldn't look too pretty ;p
